Influence of the blade size on the dynamic characteristic damage identification of wind turbine blades

Abstract In this article, the sensitivity coefficients of dynamic characteristic damage identification blades with different sizes were investigated. The results show that first third-order vibration modes blade before and after are consistent, wind turbine size has no significant effect on mode; increase size, first-, third- fourth-order natural frequency decrease gradually, while second-, fifth- sixth-order gradually; as increases, displacement mode coefficient gradually which indicates is better size. With first- strain modal when using for identification, larger effect; second-order decreases worse effect. This research could provide a theoretical basis application method in sizes.
